Chakra Balancing Meditation
Chakra Meditation is an old form of meditation originating from Hindu texts and Magick focused around the concept and belief of 7 main energy centers on the body. Each of which is similar to a vortex of energy can control and manipulate various parts of the body. As an example someone may say, you use your third eye Chakra too much and so you are imbalanced, you need to focus more on the heart. This is one example of balancing.
Each Chakra is said to be a force center consisting or whirlpool whorls permeating form a point on the human body, each whorl different to the next in color and balance. By the common belief of Chakras, each vortex or whorl of energy, each Chakra is a transmitter of energy to different parts of the body. While some parts of the body may consist of more than 7, it is the common understanding in the West that the 7 part system are the main functions of the Chakras and so they are the most focused on.

What Does a Chakra Do?
In a nutshell of understanding a Chakra sucks in needed energy to certain parts of the body, in a
way it is a spiritual plug - in point for
the spirit to get fuel. It also is said to expel negative energy from these areas as well. By keeping the Chakras in balance with meditation it is said to help keep the body in spiritual shape as well as the organs each one governs.
Each Chakra can be used in forms of meditation techniques to heal certain parts of the body as well as heal others by focusing on there energy centers. So as well as balancing Chakras can be used for spiritual healing as well. It is also believed Chakras help the body go deeper in meditation attaining more levels of enlightenment or meditation bliss in another word.
All in all there are said to be 21 minor chakra excluding the common 7 as seen above, which are all more reflected points of the major chakras. As an example of some of these other Chakras, there are 10 bilateral minor chakras that correspond to the foot, hand, knee, elbow, groin, clavicular, navel, shoulder & ear.
Common Meaning of Chakra
On another meaning of Chakra's it is believed to be a epi center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy in the body. The word CHAKRA itself commonly translates to mean wheel and therefore suggests to be a spinning sphere of bio-energetic activity that runs along the spinal cord of the body. Generally, six to seven of these wheels are described, stacked in like a column like style of energy that moves from the base Chakra of the spine to the middle of the forehead (Third Eye Chakra), the seventh Chakra lying beyond the physical world (astral body influence). It is also believed that the six major chakras of the body all correlate with basic states of consciousness.
As can been see in the images of the Chakras on this page, each Chakra correlates as well to a different color.
What Is Chakra Balancing Meditation?
Chakra balancing meditation is a form of mediation set on exactly that, to tune each Chakra to the balance it needs in the body for better health and well being. Each person is different in this balancing as you can imagine by the way we are all different in how we feel and how are Chakras are aligned.
To do this one must learn the right form of meditation that can tune each one in the right way. By practicing alignment wrong it is believed to be able to cause problems rather than help.
Below are the seven common Chakras and the parts they govern:
- Muladhara - Base or Root Chakra (ovaries/prostate)
- Swadhisthana - Sacral Chakra (last bone in spinal cord, the coccyx)
- Manipura - Solar Plexus Chakra (navel area)
- Anahata - Heart Chakra (heart area)
- Vishuddha - Throat Chakra (throat and neck area)
- Ajna - Brow or Third Eye Chakra (pineal gland or third eye)
- Sahasrara - Crown Chakra (top of the head or commonly called the soft spot of a newborn baby)
Chakra Balancing Crystals

Just like other forms of spiritual balancing crystals can also be used to help make the process easier and certain crystals are said to focus better on certain Chakras than others.

According to Hindu thought, chakras are the energy centers of the human body. These are the key points at which our life force move through the body and are what keeps our body and mind functioning properly and in harmony with each other. While you can't see your chakras, the major chakras are closely associated with the major parts of your endocrine system (which is tangible).
Chakras control the flow of energy into and out of our bodies. This continuous flow of energy within us and between us and our environment is dependent on your chakras staying in a harmonious balance with each other for proper mental and physical health to exist.
The seven major chakras are ties to the function of a particular gland in our endocrine system. Our chakras are tied to everything we go through; each feeling, sensation and experience we have are related to our chakras.
Any kind of stress, whether mental, physical or emotional can negatively affect the balance of our chakras. We can have a loss of energy, even illness as a result of this imbalance. This is a clear sign if there ever was one that our chakras are out of balance.
To get the most of the harmonious function of our chakras, chakra balance must be maintained. Regular chakra balancing is key to keeping in good health, similar to the way that a machine needs preventative maintenance.
Importance of Chakra Balancing: Many methodologies exist in balancing our chakras and others are continually being explored and developed as the attainment of a perfectly balanced chakra system is the ultimate goal of people who want to enjoy a more fruitful, productive and healthy lifestyle.
For starters, you have to understand that each individual chakra has its own frequency vibration that corresponds to naturally-occurring frequencies that are present in the environment. It is through these unique frequencies that each individual chakra receives and/or transmits energy referred to as chi, qi, or prana.
When we are ill, our chakras are not performing properly because they are out of balance. This can make our problems even worse; and a chakric system which is out of balance fosters ill health. Other than illness, an imbalance can be due to lack of exercise, stress or poor diet.
Everyone experiences an imbalance in their chakras from time to time; but this can fortunately be restored by chakra balancing.
Tools of Chakra Balancing: The methods which are most commonly employed to restore chakra balance are crystals and gems, light, sound, color and aromatherapy.
Colors: Commonly used colors and their corresponding chakras are red (root chakra), orange (sacral chakra), yellow (solar plexus chakra), green and turquoise (heart chakra), blue (throat chakra), violet (crown chakra) and white for all chakras.
Crystals and Gems: For millennia, laying gens, crystals and stones on the body at the location of the chakras has been used to restore chakra balance., Each chakra corresponds to a different color; so laying a stone of this color on the bodily area which corresponds to it can help to reach the proper balance, which in turn helps the body to heal.
And because crystals and gems reflect light which results in various colors, the resulting play of light and color into the body through the chakra points also result in the balance of the chakra system.
Light: Light therapy employs light not only on the eyes, but also on the reflex points and the meridian points of acupuncture to restore chakra balance. The broad spectrum of light is very beneficial here, including both visible and invisible frequencies, including those corresponding to the chakras.
Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is the use of scented candles, fragrant massage oils and bath soaps in order to capitalize on the healing properties and physiological effects of the chemical ingredients of plants? essential oils that make up the base product. Essential oils are able to clean, set free and restore an individual's stability of thoughts and emotions because they can affect a person's mental, emotion and spiritual aspects. Aromatherapy is generally employed to relieve stress, promote physical and mental relaxation, combat fatigue and depression and as an aid to meditation.
Sound: Sound therapy creates chakra-resonant frequencies and produces a sensation of well being using tuning forks, soft music, Tibetan singing bowls and other means. Sound has natural soothing and chakra balancing properties and appeals to emotional response as well. A soothing, beautiful sound fosters relaxation and balance while a harsh one causes an anxious state. Sound can speed up healing and promote a higher state of consciousness.
Chakra balancing up until recently was a quite time consuming process, but recent advances in audio technology such as listening to binaural beat frequencies, subliminal messaging and self-hypnosis meditation recordings have made the process of chakra balancing far easier and quicker for most people.
Chakra Meditation for Healing Mind, Body, and Soul.
Chakra meditation is the key tophysical health, emotional stability and mental clarity. That is because our chakras work as conductors, filtering energy from the heavens and earth so that they can unify. Chakras are literally energy vortexes. The unification of theseenergiesis what forms a chakra. It is a vortex of moving energy, which then stimulates various endocrine organs in the body to secrete hormones into the blood stream. Chakras are depicted as a kind of funnel with smaller funnels inside of that funnel. They are also often compared to appearing like lotus flowers. Many also have intuitively viewed the intake of individual chakras as appearing similar to the blades of a fan or a windmill rotating in circular motion.
Chakras are doors which admit our prana- life energy to flow throughout our aura. Their central purpose is vitalizing the physical body, and to foster awakening of our self-consciousness. They are connected with physical, mental and emotional faculties. There are seven major chakras which are universally recognized.
The aura is generally considered as the eighth chakra. Our first chakra (root) actually extends outside of the body. It is housed in between the thighs...just halfway between the knees and your physical body. The seventh chakra, known as the crown chakra, is situated on the top of the head. The rest of the chakras, (sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, and eye), are arranged in sequence along the spine, neck, and skull. Individually, chakras resemble funnels with petal-like openings. Although chakras are not visible to the human eye, they can be perceived psychically by trained subtle-energy workers.
The Importance of chakra meditation Having the chakras analyzed and treated by a reputable and experienced person trained in subtle-energy work is a great way of learning how the body operates on a metaphysical level. Metaphysical energy workers that are trained in dealing chakra meditation will be able to tell you which of your chakras are in poor condition, which ones are being overworked, and what you can to alleviate that burden. If, for example, the chakras are performing on a lower level, the rest of the chakras will be forced to pick up the slack. Non-functioning chakras can actually "blow out" an otherwise healthy chakra, which is certainly not good. By analogy, when ones back or hip goes out of alignment, one will take a trip to the chiropractor's office for an adjustment. Likewise, a metaphysical energy worker that is trained to manipulating the energy flow can assist one in having misaligned chakras adjusted back to functioning condition. It may require a few sessions with a healing practitioner to get energy levels back up to speed. Thereafter, you can take a varietyof healthactions to help keep the chakras open and functioning optimally, which permits your energy to flow naturally.
Best Methods of Chakra MeditationI have discovered that the best way of balancing and healing viachakra meditationis with mantra practice. Learning to work with your 'telekinetic' mind power within the chakra realms is incredibly effective and powerful. So I think that everyone should learn to work with telekinetic energy within the context of chakra meditation. Perhaps it is so effective because telekinesis also known as 'PK' is a scientific fact that has been proven repeatedly at the world's leading universities and by the world's top scientists. And,. as the oldest mapping system of human nature, health and behavior, the chakras are also a scientific fact!
My preferred form ofyogais Bhakti and it has the most powerful effect on the chakras in terms of keepig them in the best shape. And even though I am not perfect with my Bhakti practice, it is still incredibly beneficial in my life! The matra practice and vegetarianism is very purifying and really does make a world of difference almost right away. The bottom line is that you can take control over your world by working within the chakra realms. Its that simple. All you need to do is take the next step and learn the most effective chakra meditation techniques. Chakras are also a scientific fact, and that is why they are so effective for addressing areas of our lives that need healing, 'massage,' and/or subtle-energy treatment.
